The Harold Porter National Botanical Garden, Betty’s Bay

Nestled between sea and mountain, in the heart of the Cape’s richest Fynbos region. From Cape Town you could take the scenic coastal drive through Gordon’s Bay to Betty’s Bay. Hermanus, famous for the whale watching during our winter months, is less than 30 minutes drive away.

No visit to Betty’s Bay is complete without a circular walk through the garden. Disa Kloof is named after the wild orchards that grow there and the walk is very pleasant – with well maintained boardwalks right up to the waterfall where the wild orchards grow. For the more energetic a hike up Leopard’s Kloof through the forest and with more waterfalls will be a delight. There is a restaurant, souvenir shop, picnic area and plant sales.

Betty’s Bay is also known for it’s penguin colony.
